I'm the default resident expert in computational biology. I've been working the past year or two in getting some bioinformatics initiatives started at the University of Puerto Rico, and it's starting to pay off.
One project underway is a large initiative to create a center for computational biology: BiCu Site.
The best resource is the International Society for Computational Biology's web page at http://www.iscb.org/ . They have course listings, jobs, journals, conference listings, and more.
My Software Page has links to some software I've developed for computational biology. Also see the HPCf biology page and our Pise server.
The ISCB has a long list of courses, but we've finally started offering courses at the UPR too.
