Nanobio in going to be Down on April 12 2010

javier — Mon, 2010-03-15 13:18

Hi to all users:
During April 12 and April 18 Nanobio cluster is going to be Down. During this period we are going to deploy our parallel file system Lustre for Home directory on this machine. This way we are going be able to achieve exceptional performance on I/O intensive jobs and triplicate the actual storage space to 14 TeraBytes. Thank you and sorry for the inconvenience.

Lustre Parallel File System is Currently Avaliable on Nanobio

javier — Tue, 2010-03-02 04:43

Right now Nanobio has Lustre running, this is parallel file system with a 14 TB of storage allocation and the capacity of writing and reading up to 230 MB/s of aggregate I/O. This file system path is /lustrefs/ if you want to try it out please make a directory on the /lustrefs.( example mkdir /lustrefs/username) I want to be clear that this parallel file system is currently a scratch file system, which means that everything created on this file system is not going to have a backup copy.
